Diamond are hardly the typical type of band I would normally post on Deadhorse... but that's part of what makes them so good. Although there isn't much information readily-available about the band, Diamond is seemingly a side-project and/or experiment by members of Trapped Under Ice and We Read Minds. They utilize pop sensibilities combined with elements of indie rock, post-punk, and follow it with a whole lot of melody & emotive delivery. The songs are beyond catchy, and have a late-90's/early-2000's quality of pop rock to them. And while the material falls relatively within the same realm as We Read Minds, it maintains enough groove and energy to be an entirely different experience.
Looking outside of my comfort zone of bands to compare Diamond to is admittedly difficult. But if you can find some sort of middle-ground (no matter how puzzling) between Cave In's Antenna, the Ataris' So Long, Astoria, and Saves the Day's Sound the Alarm, you might just dig it.
