Since their formation in the early 2000's, Philadelphia's Blacklisted has consistently progressed and pushed boundaries within hardcore and punk music. The band has shown the true grit, depth, and aggression of the genre, all the while thinking outside the box and reinventing themselves while the rest of the pack struggles to keep pace. With their recent release of No One Deserves to Be Here More Than Me and Eccentrichine, Blacklisted soared to new heights and sank to new lows with their darkest material to date; it was utterly depressive, brooding, and dissonant, incorporating elements of post-hardcore, post-punk, grunge, and alt-rock at moments.
Recently, the band played an in studio for BBC Radio 1's Punk Show with Mike Davies. The performance - albeit brief - is a showcase of just how tight and punishing Blacklisted are in a live setting. Offering up renditions of songs from their last two LPs, and a new, unreleased song, the session gives you a sense of where the band has been, where they are, and an idea of where they are going.
